Born in Ieper, Belgium – September 11, 1974.
The artistic talent of Robin Uzeel manifested itself early in his childhood.
At the age of eight, he already took art lessons with painter Noel Vandorpe.
Between the ages of 12 and 18, he attended the Art Academy in Ypres, where he studied Graphics Arts and Painting.
Thereafter, he furthered his studies (among others) in horticulture and woodworking after which he went to Eindhoven, Netherlands to study Dendrology (tree surgery).
Robin represents the seventh generation of the Uzeel family dedicated to professional tree care.
In 1998 he started his artistic career with figurative wooden sculptures.
However, he quickly evolved into abstract sculpture due to his fundamental respect for trees and their living character.
You can find HERE a reportage about his work as an artist and a tree worker.
